HERBERT DE MIRANDA

 

Composer,arranger,bass player and singer. Resident in Catalunya.Portuguese nationality (Lisboa). Born in Johannesburg in 1960. In love with the electric bass since his childhood in Mozambique, he discovered the rhythm and percussion from southeast Africa.. Musician of various background ,his style fusion atlantic and mediterranean sounds with the afrobrasilian rythms. He has participated in some recordings for TV (RTP-Portugal); Cd’s with Portuguese and Spanish musicians; tours in Catalunya, South France and Portugal. Mentor of the educational project Experimental xilophony. He founded the band “Coast to Coast”, an encounter of lusophon musicians of the African diaspora residents in Barcelona.Herbert de Miranda offers a selection of original songs and special covers recreated in bossa/funk and jazz-pop.
